Billy Beer was a beer brand endorsed by Billy Carter, the brother of then-U.S. President Jimmy Carter. Falls City Brewing Company of Louisville, Kentucky, and West End Brewing Company of Utica, New York, brewed it beginning in 1977. The beer's marketing capitalized on Billy Carter's colorful personality and perceived "good ol' boy" image.
Despite initial popularity fueled by novelty, Billy Beer failed to gain a lasting market share due to its perceived mediocre taste. Production ceased in 1978.
