The Dixon Pencil Company, founded in 1827 by joseph Dixon, initially produced crucibles and graphite products before transitioning to pencils. The Ticonderoga brand, named after Fort Ticonderoga, was introduced in the early 20th century and quickly gained popularity for its quality graphite core and distinctive green and yellow design.
During the mid-20th century the "Twenty Four" series was a popular product. This pencil lead tube would have been a companion product, allowing users to refill their mechanical pencils.
